The WhatsApp channel is not connected. Reminders are prepared and queued but not sent. An approved utility template in Meta and the company number are required.
How do reminders work?
- Every five minutes the system looks at tomorrow's appointments and queues them. Nothing to press; the button above just repeats it by hand.
- Each booking gets a send time: 16 h before it starts.
- When that time comes, the same cron sends the WhatsApp message and marks the row as sent.
- Move the booking and the reminder moves with it. Cancel it and the reminder is dropped.
It will not go out if: the customer has no phone, has not consented to reminders, or the booking is no longer active. Those are counted separately, not silently dropped.
The reminder goes out the day before — OUTSIDE the 24-hour window, where WhatsApp only accepts a Meta-approved template, not free text. With no approved template nothing goes out.
Only appointment reminders (utility) live here. Promotions are forbidden in code, not by agreement: sending them gets the whole number blocked by Meta, and with it the only channel you have to customers.
